A snapshot of the plaque in the Museum

If the board/Plaque in South Africa’s Freedom Park museum recognizing and appreciating the various countries that aided in the abolishment of apartheid in South Africa is anything to go by, Nigeria played absolutely no role in the country’s liberation struggle. Out of over 20 countries listed, Nigeria was not among.

The plaque in the museum was put up after the fall of Apartheid by the SA government in honour of the Black Liberation struggle.

Therefore, the question on the lips of many young Nigerians is, where went the millions of dollars Nigerian leaders claimed in the 70s and 80s were spent to support South African liberation struggle? Or is the South African government lying?
